today announced the commercial launch of Metin2 (www.metin2.us) together with
the all new Item Mall.
G4Box Inc. CEO, Howard He added "The response to Metin2's Beta release
has been extremely encouraging. Player enthusiasm exceeded our expectations at
every milestone. We plan to update the game on a regular basis with new
content, as well as host tournaments and provide support for this growing
competitive clan community."
Metin2, a 3D fantasy game involving a medieval battle of empires, is a
leading title in the MMORPG genre, one of the fastest-growing segments of the
online game market. Participants assume the roles of characters that interact
with other players while engaging in battle and other activities through
multiple levels. After downloading the free game to their PC, players can
purchase value-added in-game assets and services, and premium features that
enhance the game experience - a proven, successful revenue model for this
genre of online game.
Other localized versions of Metin2 available in Germany, and throughout
the Far East have already attracted a large and growing following, according
to its South Korean creator and Licensor, Ymir Entertainment. It is part of a
worldwide online game market that, DFC Intelligence reports is forecasted to
grow from US$3.4 billion in 2005 to over US$13 billion in 2011, 55% of which
will be derived from MMORPG games.
